This Summer’s star? A beam of steel! XCarb® shines at Luxembourg’s outdoor exhibition

XCarb® Sections and Merchants Bars

ArcelorMittal Luxembourg, through its Foundation, is providing a beam manufactured in Differdange for the temporary “Water Forum” installation of the LUGA festival (Luxembourg Urban Garden) taking place from May 7 to October 8, 2025

A facility committed to the decontamination of the Alzette

Designed by the architectural firm 2001, the “Water Forum” is a temporary installation that aims to revitalise the Alzette Valley by creating an experimental water purification garden. It also serves as a platform for dialogue and reflection on sustainable urban development.

In support of this initiative, the ArcelorMittal Foundation Luxembourg is contributing an HL 1100 B beam, produced in Luxembourg from XCarb® recycled and renewably produced steel.

Exceptional logistics

After being produced, rolled, finished and painted at ArcelorMittal’s facilities in Differdange, the beam left the Steligence® fabrication centre premises on Thursday, March 6, by a special convoy before being installed the following morning.

As a central structural element of the installation, the beam now supports a natural water filtration system composed of plants and rocks, linking the Alzette River to a recovery basin.

The installation will be visible in the Alzette valley, on the banks of Clausen, behind the Stierchen bridge, from May 7 to October 8, 2025.

At the conclusion of the exhibition, and in line with a circular and eco-responsible approach, the beam will be reused or recycled, giving it a second life beyond the festival.
