IMS Luxembourg honours Differdange's dedusting project
ArcelorMittal is proud to have received the Sustainability Team award for their project “Circular economy serving air quality in Differdange”. Earlier this month, the IMS Sustainability Awards recognised companies, associations, and public institutions that led the year's most impactful sustainable development initiatives.
The project is based on the reuse of a former dust extraction system from ArcelorMittal in Florange (France), which was dismantled and then reassembled piece by piece at the ArcelorMittal Long Products Luxembourg site in Differdange. This initiative is a tangible example of the circular economy and large-scale industrial recycling, with a major objective: reducing the site's diffuse emissions by 80%. The installation can be further enhanced in the future to capture even more emissions.
It is important to emphasise that this project was undertaken solely to reduce the company's environmental impact, rather than to generate economic benefits.

The award recognises the significant collaborative effort between the engineering, environment, maintenance, and production teams. Without this cooperation, the project would not have been possible.
