Following its nomination a few weeks beforehand, SmartSheetPile won the award in the products and technology category during the 4th Geoengineering and Underground Construction Congress in Łódź, Poland, on 24 September. The SmartSheetPile solution received top recognition.

Michał Januszewski, Executive Sales Manager for ArcelorMittal Sheet Piling, accepted the trophy on behalf of the business division’s team said the following:

It’s a great honour to accept the TYTAN 2025 Award on behalf of the entire team. SmartSheetPile represents our commitment to innovation and safety in geotechnical engineering, and this recognition is a testament to the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. We’re proud to contribute to the future of smarter, more resilient infrastructure.”

Cutting-edge system

SmartSheetPile is designed to enhance the safety, resilience and sustainability of steel sheet pile-based infrastructure, such as ports, dykes and bridges. By integrating embedded sensors, real-time data transmission, digital twin modelling and advanced artificial intelligence analytics, SmartSheetPile enables continuous monitoring of critical parameters, including impacts, corrosion, structural integrity, deformation and strain. Its predictive maintenance capabilities and early warnings help to prevent catastrophic failures, reduce downtime and optimise asset performance.

SmartSheetPile offers five key benefits: securing assets through early detection of potential issues; minimising costly downtime through predictive maintenance; optimising maintenance schedules based on actual conditions rather than periodic inspections; revealing hidden structural capacities; and enabling digital transformation of infrastructure management.
